Were you born in the US to Arabic-speaking parents or grandparents or were you born ‘back home’ but came to the US at a young age? If so, you are a heritage speaker. As heritage speakers, we sometimes don’t know exactly how or what to say, or how to respond in specific social scenarios. These communication breakdowns, embarrassing moments, and cultural misunderstandings can be very frustrating. Traditional Arabic language classes don’t teach you how to communicate with the taxi driver or your grandparents in their local day-to-day dialect.

If you can relate to this scenario, there is a class for you now! Sign up and learn verbal and non-verbal communication skills in natural social-cultural settings. The course is conducted in Arabic and English and incorporates gestures, idiomatic expressions, grammar exercises, speaking activities, homework, community-based experiential learning, and much more.

Please note that any registration after Saturday, January 14 will not qualify for sibling discounts.
