Join author Sahtinay Abaza, illustrators Dina Fawakhiri and Teresa Abboud Al Rassi and longtime book distributor and children’s book author Mr. Antoine Honein for an inspiring conversation on the world of Arabic children’s books. The panel will explore the journey of bringing a story to life—from the first spark of writing, to the creative process of illustration, to the challenges and joys of book production. Together, they will share insights on how Arabic children’s literature and Arabic children’s cultural books in any language can nurture imagination, preserve cultural identity, and open doors to new worlds for young readers.

From cultural education to social justice, health, and humanitarian relief, Arab American-led nonprofits in the U.S. play a vital role in uplifting our communities and making our voices heard. This panel brings together organizations such as Alif Institute, CAIR Georgia, PCRF, Palistory, Noor Family Services, ISB, ADC, HEAL, and the Laurice Khoury Foundation to highlight their essential work and impact.
The discussion will explore the role of non-profit organizations in a community, their structures, challenges, and the role of the community itself in sustaining and supporting these institutions. From preserving identity and heritage, to advocating for rights, to providing civic and legal guidance and support for families and future generations.
