All across the Arab world, Muslims are celebrating the holy month of Ramadan. For an entire month, Muslims fast from dawn to sunset and will break their fast with an iftar, or “breaking the fast.” Because Muslims make up a majority of the population in most Arab countries, the observance of Ramadan has great significance for the entire society. During Ramadan, Muslims invite their friends of all faiths to an iftar so that they can share in the celebration.

Please join us at 8:00 PM on the evening of Saturday, May 11, for a traditional Ramadan iftar. We will learn about different Ramadan customs, discuss the impact of Ramadan on the Arab world and beyond, and share a delicious meal with old friends and new.

This Traditional Iftar Dinner is a great example of how Alif programs fulfill our mission by bringing together different traditions and cultures for educational experiences in a fun and welcoming environment!

Please help us fulfill our mission by becoming a SPONSOR and/or by becoming a VOLUNTEER!
