Methodology
TPRS:
 Listening-focused immersion with simple, understandable messages and stories in Arabic. An immersive approach, placing heavy emphasis on conversational proficiency in the Levantine Dialect (Syrian, Jordanian, Lebanese, Palestinian) – which is used in everyday conversations. Students will develop conversational proficiency through repeated exposure to high amounts of the most frequently-used, everyday vocabulary – all in the form of storytelling, understandable conversations, and games.

Textbook – No textbook required.

Methodology
University-style Arabic language instruction focused on the Communicative Language Approach based on the standards of the American Council for the Teaching of Foreign Languages. This course focuses on Levantine Dialect (Syrian, Lebanese, Palestinian, Jordanian) and Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) integrated to reflect natural usage. It follows the integrated Arabic communicative model focusing on reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills developed at Cornell University.

Are you a college or high school student whose study abroad plans have been canceled, or are you itching to do something fun in person? This program is for you! Alif is hosting an in-person domestic program that will allow you to study Arabic and immerse yourself in the culture. In this three-week program, you will learn Integrated Levantine Arabic inspired by the Arabic as One Language Cornell University integrated Arabic model of Fusha and Levantine dialect in tandem with Alif’s critical intercultural communication curriculum.

Classes in the program will be held Monday through Friday from 10 AM to 1 PM. Upon completing the course, elementary students will develop linguistic proficiency at the novice/intermediate level according to the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages.
